Description

Spyderco C223PCBL, Para 3 Lightweight, Blue FRN Handle, CPM Spy27 Blade

Spyderco has long been an industry leader in the use of exotic, high-performance blade steels. After years of using the best materials the world’s leading steel manufacturers could provide, we decided it was time to create our own. In close cooperation with Crucible® Industries, we developed CPM® SPY27®, a particle metallurgy stainless steel containing a proprietary mix of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen, and cobalt. Produced exclusively for Spyderco, it forms the heart of this elite expression of the Para® 3 Lightweight. The full-flat-ground blade of this knife capitalizes on SPY27’s unique properties to deliver an exceptional balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. It is paired with an ultra-lightweight handle made from fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). Injection molded in a distinctive blue—one of the signature colors of our CPM SPY27 family—the handle contains the knife’s streamlined Compression Lock® mechanism to lock the blade securely open during use. It also features a non-slip Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern and a reversible deep-pocket wire clip that provides discreet tip-up carry on either side of the body.

Spyderco

Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. In 1981, the Glessers put down roots in Golden, Colorado and introduced the first Spyderco folding knife. That knife pioneered the concept of a round hole in the blade for one-handed opening, a clip on the handle for carry at the top of the pocket, and the option of a serrated edge for aggressive cutting performance. Since then, Spyderco has steadily grown to become one of the leaders in the cutlery industry. In addition to a worldwide distribution network and manufacturing resources in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and China. Those Who Know, Carry Spyderco.
